GameTap gives Myst Online back to Cyan. Cyan says it's opening the game to fan development

After several months of negotiation, Spokane-based Cyan Worlds regained the rights to its complex immersive game, Myst Online.

Company
President Rand Miller said the deal was arranged with GameTap, the
Turner Entertainment subsidiary which published Myst Online for about a
year. The company shut down Myst Online in April 2008, saying the
closure was due to business reasons.

Chogon from Cyan has shared with us recently that if there is to be a restoration of MOUL, URU and Myst Online, that the Guilds will need to play a much more important role in the future. He has also suggested that we all look at the Guilds in existance now and choose one and join.

A new background pack of Normal Resolution Views for the background of the URU Live Chat Client is now available.

Uru Chat has launched, and hopefully is able to give some feelings of Uru immersion while spending time with friends. Yes, we fully appreciate this is not the real thing, and here is a promise: as soon as MOUL relaunches, Uru Chat will be dismantled again. Let's just hope this will be soon! :)

We have been tweaking here and there, and so far only one more technicality needs to be sorted out. Unfortunately, single log on is not possible yet. The programmers are working on it, in the meantime, please log in using your mystonline.info username and password.
