Well --- a very deep subject
It has been odd not being online in URU and yet a relief as well. So much pressure, it became too much. Torn between two worlds one cannot remain sane.
I've started writing. Not sure where it is going but I'm writing a story. I don't even know if I will finish it. I started writing a story once before when I was in 9th grade, but put it aside. I think I'm afraid I'm the kind of person who begins but cannot end a story. I'm on chapter two... it comes to me in bits and pieces. I don't know if it's any good and perhaps that isn't the point. The writing itself is the point. Doing it.
I had a friend in Kansas who expected to walk into a bookstore someday and see a book written by me. I thought it was flattery except that this person wasn't given to flattery. I was flattered though and for days played with the idea of writing. Heavens knows I've done enough technical writing. Not the same though.
I like this blog thing and the fact that only people I hold dear will ever possibly see it. I couldn't do a public blog. I'm too private.
I'm too private. Hmmmm yeah, that's me. I'm the hot stove that doesn't want to be touched. Or maybe I'm too public -- the geyser that sprays too much garbage out there. Nuts.
Well --- lots to contemplate.

Well this is a good place to try your story out!
Really the only way to see if you are a stove or a geyser is to just put yourself out there- as that is what writing a story is to a point, especially a story that you have had for such a long time! However, seeing as how you have had that story floating around in your head for so long, there must be something about it that has staying power!
I would encourage you to post all, some or parts of your story! We are really very good listeners. Try us out.
Welcome to the Storytellers!!! This is the first time for me to blog and write stories for others to read, too!!! It was scarey at first, but we are all Myst family here. Go for it!
We are ready and waiting to read!!!

Please do tell us your story. As Church said, we are all very good listeners.....um...... readers here. Some love to critic (in a nice way) when asked. And when not asked, we will give our opinions. lol. Please do be scared or shy about sharing with us. Most of us here are new at it ourselves and understand completely how you feel. :D
I encourage you to write, freely, openly, but from within yourself. I actually know someone who has written 3 books and the secret to writing was revealed.
I quote "I never know who I will write about, who's story will be told. I just come and sit and wait until one of them come and tell me their story."
Their story is within you, not from your heart where emotion lives, nor from your mind, where facts are changed and details are forgotten. They come from who you are, your spirit, which remains true after everything else of you is stripped away. listen to the calm small voice within you and write us all a story.
