Why I have an ugly wallet.

There are some things that people ask that you just can’t answer properly without a story. 

I brought out my ugly wallet at lunch yesterday and it drew comments.  It’s the fur mostly that does it.   “Is that real fur?” someone will ask.  “I’m not sure.” I have to admit.  Then I have to tell the story just to help explain why I have a leather and fur, brown and black spotted wallet. 

“You see,” I’ll start.  “My wallet was stolen my gypsies in Spain.” 

That’s enough to get hold most people’s attention.

“I was with friends in Mallorica, asking for directions.” 

Tourists asking for directions, we were asking for trouble!

“I was the only one who spoke even a little Spanish, so I went to ask and left my pack with my friends.”

My inattentive friends…

“I even saw the little old lady who I think took it.  She looked nice.”

She was sizing me up for a hit!

“I didn’t even realize it was gone until after the hike about 3 hours later.”

She was that good.

“So, I needed a new wallet, so I bought this one at the Courte Ingles on the island.”

As if anyone knows what this means.

“And this wallet was the best one that they had!”

Which is a great excuse for my bad taste!
